Diehard Glock fans may have a hard time swallowing their pride on this one.
The best Glock 19 I ever bought was a CZ P10C. I joke, but we can’t deny the apparent influence guns as the Glock 19 have had on the firearms industry. The success of the Glock 19 is the reason the CZ P10C exists. They are very similar firearms. Both fall into the compact category, both come in 9mm, have polymer frames, and both are striker-fired guns devoid of manual safeties. That being said, the CZ P10C is the better gun between the two, and I’ll hit you with five reasons why.
Aggressive Grip Texture
An entire niche group of small companies exists to take soldering irons to Glock grips. Shooters want an aggressive grip texture. The CZ P10C comes with an ultra-aggressive grip texture that clings to your hand like an overly aggressive girlfriend in a college town. There is no slipping or sliding around with this grip.
Smoother Trigger
I can best describe the Glock trigger as an extra medium. It’s okay, far from bad, but not good either. The CZ P10C presents a much smoother trigger, a lighter trigger, with a shorter reset. The CZ P10C’s trigger is superior all the way around, and there is a reason why so many Glock’s get aftermarket triggers.
Metal Sights are Stock
The first upgrade any Glock 19 owner should make is swapping out those plastic sights. With the CZ P10C, you get metal sights out of the box. Metal sights are more reliable, take a beating better, and provide you with a durable option. If you over-tighten a Glock front sight, it breaks.
Better Ergonomics
Ergonomics can often be subjective, but with a cursory search around the internet, I find lots of people agreeing with me. Glocks, even the Gen 5, feel like they are bricks. The slide locks are way too small, the thick grip isn’t super comfortable, and it took five generations to get front slide serrations. The CZ P10C comes with a bigger magazine release, a 1911ish like grip angle, a thinner grip, and front slide serrations since day 1.
It’s Cheaper
The CZ P10C is anywhere from 50 to 70 dollars cheaper than a Glock Gen 5 or Gen 4 model currently. The P10C is superbly affordable for the features offered. The optic’s ready models have the same gap in price. The P10C offers a lot of better features and a more refined design overall than the Glock 19 at a lower price, and that’s hard to beat.
The Superior CZ P10C
The CZ P10C exists because of the Glock 19. CZ utilized the years of lessons and modifications Glock 19 owners made to their firearms and implemented them into the P10C’s design. The result is a fantastic firearm that offers shooters a superior and more affordable firearm. That being said, in no way is the Glock 19 a bad firearm. It’s easily one of the most proven platforms on the planet. The Glock 19 does beat the CZ in sheer modularity, there are more Glock 19 lower parts kits than total CZ accessories.
