EDC Best Practice: Don’t Skimp When Choosing a Gun Belt

We know all too well, the quality of your gun belt is just as important as your holster. The two go hand-in-hand so skimping on one could lead to issues with the other.

USCCA’s Kevin Michalowski gets it. In a recent Into the Fray video, the Concealed Carry Magazine Editor covered what to look for:

Don’t go cheap when you choose a gun belt. Your belt is an integral part of your everyday carry system. A good belt makes your holster more secure and more comfortable. This is especially true when carrying your gun outside the waistband. A good belt will keep the holstered gun from sagging and drooping.

Thickness is the hallmark of a good gun belt. Stout leather or leather reinforced with a polymer liner will give you the support you need. You also need to understand that the size of your pants is not the same as the size of your belt.

We recommend going 4-5″ above your pant size to get an accurate measurement for your CrossBreed belt.

  1. Just make sure you practice with your other guns as well. While practice with a plinker is good, you also need to be practiced with every other firearm you own. That said, the better you can get at plinking, the better you’ll get everywhere else.
