It’s that time of the year again when it’s time to start finding gifts for gun owners in your life.
If you’re not a gun enthusiast as much as they are or don’t know where to start, this blog will help guide you through what to buy.
1. Ammunition
The number one thing gun owners will ALWAYS need and want is ammunition. Gun owners may only use one holster for the rest of their lives (we hope not), but ammunition will always run out, and they will always appreciate more of it. It’s great to have practice ammunition, but don’t forget to also buy defensive ammunition (hollow points), especially if your gun owner carries a concealed handgun or has a home defense gun at the ready. Knowing their gun’s caliber makes it much easier to shop for ammunition. You can always get a gift card to an ammunition company’s website if you don’t.
2. Holster
If you want to gift something specifically made for their handgun, a holster is a necessity every gun owner will use and need. Holsters keep handguns protected from dust while stored in a gun safe, are required for most shooting competitions, are a necessity to carry a gun daily, and are good for transporting guns in vehicles. The best holsters are custom molded to one specific firearm model, so you will need to know what model gun(s) you are shopping for. Holsters can be unique with choices of different leather, Kydex colors, and even fun, crazy prints!
3. Magazines
There is no such thing as too many magazines. The easiest gifts for gun owners are pistol or rifle magazines for every gun model they own. If they have multiple AR-15s, they’ll love a Daniel Defense bulk AR-15 magazine 12-pack. I was gifted one of these years ago and have yet to have to buy any rifle magazines.
4. Firearms Class
Firearms education is the best gift you could give a loved one. Sadly, so few gun owners ever take a formal class. There are tons of firearm courses offered today. You could buy them a concealed carry course, basic pistol course, defensive firearms class, or even an intro to competitive shooting class. No matter what, you cannot go wrong with gifting any kind of firearms class to the gun owner in your life. Maybe even think about signing up for a class for two, so you can join them and learn something new!
5. Cleaning Supplies
Just like ammunition, cleaning solvents and solutions need to be replenished. Gifts for gun owners should always include cleaning tools or chemicals, whether they want them or not. Cleaning supplies are the socks and underwear of the firearms gift-giving world. Nobody wants them, but everyone needs them.
Get to Shopping!
With Christmas around the corner and shipping getting even crazier into the season, there’s no time like the present to start shopping for presents! See what I did there? Getting gifts for gun owners is a lot easier than you might think. We are excited about getting anything gun related, so don’t fear too much about picking out the perfect gift. We’re just grateful to have people in our life that support our expensive hobbies!
