Crossbreed’s Christmas Gift Guide

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Feel the chill in the air? The shrieks of Mariah Carey? A few too many ads for reruns of Elf and not enough for Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer? Yep, it’s Christmas time. The season for giving. I’m not an expert in much, but I am an expert in giving gifts. I’m naturally fairly good at it. With that in mind, I wanted to put together a concealed carry Christmas gift guide for all our readers.

The Concealed Carry Christmas Gift Guide

If you carry, you likely know others who carry. Maybe it’s your spouse, a family member, or just a good friend. Regardless, you need gift ideas, and we have you covered!

Ammo

Anyone who shoots appreciates free ammunition. Ammo is a great gift to give for several reasons. First, it’s always appreciated, and ammo allows you to have fun at the range and train your skills. Second, ammo scales in price. It can be a great budget-friendly gift, or it can be an expensive gift with the ability to buy hundreds or even thousands of rounds of ammo.

What you need to know is the caliber your shooter prefers. That can be tough but can be found out with a simple conversation about concealed carry. If you are completely lost, then ammo is the best gift to give from our concealed carry Christmas gift guide.

A Custom Shop Holster

Crossbreed’s custom shop has opened up, and you purchase a wide variety of holsters for a ton of different guns with custom finishes. Crossbreed produces the Reckoning, Executive, Rogue, Supertuck, and more as part of their custom series. As far as custom goes, you get to pick from a variety of finishes. These finishes include the bright and eye-catching Old Glory or Tropical to the more subtle Terrain Grey.

Personally, I want a Rogue for my P365 with the new 80s Vibe finish. I’m a fan of the 80s neon colors and quasi-cyberpunk aesthetic, but that’s just me. The Crossbreed Custom Shop holsters are all kinds of cool. What you need to know is what gun they carry. Each of these holsters is custom molded to the gun, so you’ll need to know that and the presence of any additional accessories. Talk, take notes, and order early. If anyone wants to buy me something off this concealed carry Christmas gift guide, this is the one I want.

A Weapon Mounted Light

A weapon-mounted light, or WML, gives shooters a light that points where the gun points. It’s incredibly useful for establishing positive identification of a threat. A good light allows you to ensure what you think is a threat is actually a threat. Weapon-mounted lights are a lot like guns, and they come in all sizes, shapes, and configurations.

Buying a WML can be tricky. Some guns simply can’t accept them. This requires you to know their gun to establish compatibility. Full-sized guns often work best with the Streamlight TLR 1 or the Surefire X300. Compact guns work well with the Smaller TLR 7 and TLR 8 series. Surefire and Streamlight are both fantastic companies and top-tier weapon lights. They are also one of the more expensive items in our Christmas gift guide.

A Spare Mag Pouch

Carrying a spare mag can be just good, common sense. Why not? Especially when so many magazine pouches exist in this day and age? Magazine pouches come in IWB and OWB configurations for different levels of concealment and for seemingly every weapon and magazine style. Giving one as a gift might be the kickstart a concealed carrier needs to carry a spare.

You’ll need to know the weapon and its magazine style to ensure it will fit properly. It’s also wise to know how the shooter prefers to carry. A minimalist might want a single mag pouch that can be concealed in an IWB configuration. Others might be more inclined to OWB designs that carry two extra mags.

Targets

Another budget-friendly item on our Christmas gift guide is targets. Get some ammunition in your hands and some targets at your range, and you’re ready to train. Targets often cost about a buck a piece, so you can purchase a variety of different styles and types. I’d go with tactical targets from Viking Tactics or Modern Warrior Project. These are modern and provide shooters with a true tactical training target.

If you want to go a little bigger, the Birchwood Casey 3D Silouhette Targets are a little pricier but still affordable. They are 3D and ultra-realistic from training, especially if you implement various angles. Targets are a great way to go if you know nothing about your shooter’s guns or carry methods.

Merry Christmas To All

I love this time of year. Family, food, gift-giving, and cooler weather usher in Christmas time. Sure sometimes it can feel stressful, so hopefully, we’ve helped you a bit with our Christmas gift guide. I want a new Glock 80 lower receiver to build out. Maybe we’ve narrowed it down a bit and made it easier for you to find the right gift for that hard-to-shop-for person.
