Father’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re scrambling to find a last-minute gift, you’ve come to the right place. You might be asking what makes me qualified. Well, I’m a dad, for one. Two, you came here because the dad in your life likely has an interest in firearms, and guess what? So do I! I hate writing generic lists of stuff that will apparently be a good gift for some reason. Instead of that, I simply write lists of things I want.
These are dad-approved, and as a dad, that makes it official. I went forth and gathered all the many things I wanted to wake up to on Father’s Day. Well, everything but the French toast and bacon I’m expecting to eat in bed. So without wasting any more time, let’s dive into it! These are in no particular order, and I like my children; I love them all equally.
Your Father’s Day Gift Guide
Benchmade SOCP Fixed Blade
Yeah, we are gun guys and gals here, but if you’re a gun guy, you’re likely into knives. The SOCP was originally a close combat tool aimed at soldiers. Benchmade has evolved the concept into a variety of weapons, including the SOCP Fixed blade. This big dagger resembles the same type of weapon Allied special forces carried to make short work of the Nazis in World War 2.
This is a big knife with a seven-inch blade and an overall length of nearly a foot. It’s not a pocket knife. What would I use it for? I have no idea, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want it. The SOCP Fixed Blade is a fighting knife for sure, and it would be awesome to open one up on Father’s Day.
The Rogue Sprinkle
What’s a Rogue Sprinkle? One that runs away from me because lord knows I don’t need it? No, it’s my cheeky way of saying I want a Rogue Holster from Crossbreed’s custom shop. The Custom Shop is doing numerous prints for holsters, and I love the pink sprinkled Rogue. I already have a Rogue, but I don’t have a Rogue for my P365XL with Streamlight TLR-7 SUB.
I certainly don’t have one with a sprinkle donut finish to it. The Rogue is super comfy and is a very modular holster. You can wear it appendix or strongside and pair it with a sidecar mag pouch too. Which, you can also get custom printed to sprinkle if you so choose.
A Flamethrower
Yeah, I want a flamethrower, and no, I don’t have a reason why I want one. Flamethrowers are perfectly legal and surprisingly easy to find. They are widely used for agricultural burns and controlled burns across the country. It’s a flamethrower, so if you can be responsible enough to use a gun, you are capable of being responsible enough to own a flamethrower.
My flamethrower of choice is probably going to be the Exothermic Technologies Pulsefire. I’m torn between the UBF, which can mount to my AR-15 and the standalone LRT. They both look so much fun. Most states don’t prohibit flamethrower use, California has some laws against them, but Exothermic makes a California-compliant option. It just looks like fun, and Father’s Day should be about having fun.
Crossover Gun Belt
Remember the joke about how I don’t need a donut? Well, I’ve been dropping weight. I need a new belt, but I plan to keep dropping weight, and I don’t want to keep buying new belts. The Crossover Gun belt eliminates the traditional buckle and holes for adjustments. Instead, it uses a sliding buckle that allows you to very precisely set the size.
It’s also a gun belt. A gun belt will make carrying your firearm much easier and makes the whole process a good bit more comfortable. The Crossover Gun Belt provides the right mix of exactly what I need. Plus, it looks nice, which helps ensure I only need one belt.
N8 Tactical Magna-Clip Magazine Carrier
I don’t always carry a spare mag, but when I do, I prefer it to be convenient and concealed. The N8 Tactical Magna-Clip mag carrier is a pocket mag carrier that is a very minimalist approach to carrying a spare. It’s a very small device with a pocket clip, much like your standard pocket knife. This places it in a convenient place for easy reloads.
The N8 Tactical Magna-Clip uses a magnet to secure itself to your spare magazine. Yes, it even works with Glock mags. (At least factory Glock mags.) The magnet holds it secure enough to keep it from flopping around but makes it easy to retrieve and reload. Hopefully, you won’t need a reload on Father’s Day, but if you do, you’ll be ready for it.
Axil XCOR Wireless HearPro Buds
Anyone who likes to shoot knows the value of good protective equipment. When it comes to protecting your ears, something as simple as orange squishies work. However, people who train often get sick of bad ear pro quickly. Good, comfortable, and electronic hearing protection works wonders.
The Axil XCOR is the world’s first wireless protective earbuds that mix in the benefits of electronic protection with Bluetooth capability. You can protect your ears from the sound of gunfire while having the comfort of minimalistic hearing protection. Plus, you can listen to music and even take calls. At the same time, you maintain your situational awareness, have conversations, and listen to instructions.
I’m not quite enough to go ‘heh?’ every time someone talks to me, and if I get these for Father’s Day, I hopefully never will.
Some New Balances
Well, yeah, I’m a dad. I always need a new set of New Balances. They are comfy, look cool, and work well for anything, from mowing the yard to getting the newspaper. They are cool, right?
Father’s Day Is Here
There we go. That’s my wish list for Father’s Day. I’m willing to bet there are a lot of dads out there that would love a thing or two on this list. Who doesn’t want a custom holster, a flamethrower, some AR-15 parts, or a pair of New Balances? What do you want for Father’s Day? Share below!
